NFSU Gandhinagar Campus
National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is the country's first and only Institution of National Importance dedicated to forensic and investigative sciences. It was created by an Act of Parliament in 2020, building on the foundation of the Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU) established in 2009. GFSU was the first university anywhere in the world devoted exclusively to forensic studies, and the NFSU Act extended that mandate nationally.

NFSU Delhi Campus
The Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Science was established by the Government of India in 1972 under the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) following the recommendations of the UGC to promote education and research in Criminology and Forensic Science. Inspired by the UNESCO Symposium held in London in 1955, the institute played an important role in bringing forensic and criminological studies into mainstream university education. Initially started as a training institute for officers of the criminal justice system, it later expanded its activities in research, professional training, and academic development. Over the years, thousands of officers from police, judiciary, forensic laboratories, defense forces, and civil administration — including participants from several foreign countries — have received specialized training from the institute. In 1991, the institute was upgraded to a National Institute and was later renamed after Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan. In 2020, after the establishment of National Forensic Sciences University as an Institution of National Importance, the institute became the Delhi Campus of NFSU. Today, the Delhi Campus offers a wide range of programmes in Forensic Science, Criminology, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics, Forensic Psychology, Forensic Accounting, Investigative Science, and related disciplines at undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, certificate, and doctoral levels. Popular programmes include M.Sc. Forensic Science, M.Sc. Cyber Security, M.Sc. Digital Forensics and Information Security, integrated courses in Criminology and Forensic Science, as well as various professional diploma and training programmes for working professionals. NFSU Dharwad Campus
The National Forensic Sciences University Dharwad Campus is the first campus of the university established in South India, marking an important step in expanding forensic science education across the country. The establishment of this campus fulfilled the long-standing vision of bringing specialized education and research opportunities in forensic science, cybersecurity, criminology, and allied fields to students in the southern region of India. Situated in Dharwad, a prominent educational and administrative city in the north-western part of Karnataka, the campus is surrounded by a strong academic environment. NFSU Bhopal Campus
The National Forensic Sciences University Bhopal Campus was inaugurated on 22 August 2022 by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India in the presence of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the Vice Chancellor of NFSU, and several distinguished dignitaries from both the Central and State Governments. Soon after its inauguration, the campus became operational and began functioning from the temporary premises of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) located at Village Barkhera Bonder on the Super Corridor near the Indore Bypass Road.

NFSU Goa Campus
The National Forensic Sciences University Goa Campus is located in the scenic town of Ponda in the coastal state of Goa. It was inaugurated on 14 October 2021 by the Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs, India, and soon became a fully functional academic institution.

NFSU Tripura Campus
The National Forensic Sciences University Tripura Campus was established in Agartala in November 2021 as part of the expansion of NFSU, formerly known as Gujarat Forensic Sciences University — the world’s first university dedicated exclusively to Forensic Science and allied disciplines. Recognized as an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, NFSU focuses on excellence in forensic education, research, training, and innovation. The campus is currently functioning from its transit campus at Radhanagar, Agartala, while a permanent green campus spread across approximately 15 acres is being developed at R.K. Nagar, Tripura.

NFSU Guwahati Campus
The National Forensic Sciences University Guwahati Campus is the 9th campus of NFSU in India and serves as the primary campus for the northeastern region. The transit campus was inaugurated on 25 May 2023 in Guwahati, Assam, by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India. The campus was established with the aim of promoting quality education, research, training, and consultancy services in forensic and allied sciences across Northeast India.

NFSU Manipur Campus
NFSU Manipur is a campus of the National Forensic Sciences University established in 2022 through an agreement with the Directorate of Forensic Science and the Government of Manipur. It currently operates from a transit campus at Pangei, Imphal East, while a permanent campus is developed nearby.

Banaras Hindu University
The Centre of Forensic Science was established in 2014 and has been offering the M.Sc. Forensic Science programme since the academic session 2014–15. The course is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical training in various areas of forensic science through a multidisciplinary approach.

NFSU Bhubaneswar Campus
NFSU Bhubaneswar is the National Forensic Sciences University's campus for eastern India, established in 2025 in the Khordha district of Odisha. It anchors the university's presence across the eastern states.

Panjab University
The Panjab University Department of Forensic Science, formerly known as the Institute of Forensic Science and Criminology (IFSC), was established in the academic session 2009–2010 with the aim of promoting education and research in forensic science and criminology. In January 2026, the institute was officially renamed as the Department of Forensic Science (DFS).
