NFSU Bhopal Campus

The National Forensic Sciences University Bhopal Campus was inaugurated on 22 August 2022 by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India in the presence of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, the Vice Chancellor of NFSU, and several distinguished dignitaries from both the Central and State Governments. Soon after its inauguration, the campus became operational and began functioning from the temporary premises of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) located at Village Barkhera Bonder on the Super Corridor near the Indore Bypass Road.

The campus is strategically situated in an important educational and research zone, close to renowned institutions such as the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) – National Institute for Research in Environmental Health (NIREH), the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), and the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA). This academic environment provides students with excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, research exposure, and professional collaboration.

To support the long-term development of the university, the Government of Madhya Pradesh has allotted around 27 acres of land near the Madhya Pradesh Police Academy at Village Barkheda Bonder for the construction of a modern and state-of-the-art campus. The construction work has been entrusted to the Central Public Works Department (CPWD), and the upcoming permanent campus is expected to feature advanced laboratories, smart classrooms, research facilities, and modern infrastructure designed specifically for forensic and investigative sciences.

At present, the Bhopal Campus offers several specialized academic programmes, including two-year postgraduate courses such as M.Sc. Forensic Science, M.Sc. Cyber Security, and M.Sc. Digital Forensics and Information Security. The campus also conducts a six-month Professional Diploma programme in Crime Scene Management, along with a five-year integrated B.Sc.–M.Sc. programme in Forensic Science. In addition, research opportunities are available through Ph.D. programmes in Forensic Science, reflecting the university’s growing focus on advanced research and innovation.

Within a short span of time, the campus has attracted students from different parts of India, creating a diverse academic community with strong gender representation and participation from multiple states. Guided by the vision and mission of NFSU, the Bhopal Campus
