ForensicSpot is a journal, a library and a community for the people who work casework and the students on their way into it. Case explainers, the techniques behind them, notes across every discipline, and somewhere to ask. The core stays free.
Our purpose
Forensic knowledge is scattered across paywalled journals, closed course packs and group chats. We are assembling it in one open place.
We publish, we don't aggregate
Everything here is written for this site and edited before it goes up. No scraped abstracts, no spun summaries of someone else's work.
Open to read, open to join
Notes, case explainers, the glossary and the Q&A are readable without an account. Paid plans cover curated mock packs and nothing else.
Global by default
Practice, law and admissibility differ by jurisdiction, so we say which one we are describing. India is one of several, never the only frame.
Written by people who did the work
Contributors are forensic students, researchers and practitioners. Bylines are real and reviewers are named where a piece has been through one.

The core stays free
Notes, case explainers, the glossary, university pages and the Q&A do not go behind a paywall. If a thing is needed to learn the subject, it is free, and that is not a launch offer.
- 02
Cite it or cut it
A claim about a method, a ruling or a figure carries its source. Where the primary source is a statute or a standard, we cite the statute or the standard, not a blog that paraphrased it.
- 03
Say what isn't known
Forensic disciplines vary enormously in how well validated they are. Where error rates are contested or absent, we say so instead of writing around it.
- 04
Correct in public
When something is wrong we fix the page and date the fix. A quietly edited article is worse than the error, because it teaches a reader they cannot check us.

No machine-written answers
Mock questions and explanations are written and reviewed by people. Uploads are checked before they go live. Nothing gets published because it read plausibly.

Built for the phone
Most of our readers study on a phone on a commute. Pages load fast, work on a bad connection, and save your progress as you go.
