NFSU Guwahati Campus

The National Forensic Sciences University Guwahati Campus is the 9th campus of NFSU in India and serves as the primary campus for the northeastern region. The transit campus was inaugurated on 25 May 2023 in Guwahati, Assam, by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India. The campus was established with the aim of promoting quality education, research, training, and consultancy services in forensic and allied sciences across Northeast India.

Currently operating from its transit campus at Narkasur Hilltop, Bhangagarh, Guwahati, the university is also developing its permanent campus on nearly 50 acres of land at Molong, Changsari in Kamrup district, provided by the Government of Assam. The upcoming campus is expected to feature modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, and specialized research facilities for forensic and cyber sciences.

The Guwahati Campus offers programmes under the School of Forensic Science and the School of Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. Academic programmes currently include M.Sc. Forensic Science, Professional Diploma in Crime Scene Management, Integrated B.Tech.–M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering with specialization in Cyber Security, and a Professional Diploma in Cyber Crime Investigation.

The campus focuses on skill development and professional training in areas such as DNA forensics, narcotic drug analysis, ballistics, post-blast investigation, forensic psychology, cyber security, digital forensics, and forensic document examination. It also aims to provide specialized training to law enforcement agencies, government organizations, and private institutions from Northeast India and neighbouring countries. With its strategic location, experienced faculty, and growing infrastructure, the Guwahati Campus is steadily emerging as an important center for forensic education and research in the eastern and northeastern region of India.
