HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose)

A water-reversible cellulose ether polymer used in dilute aqueous solution as an ink fixative; applied by atomiser to wet document surfaces to prevent ink migration during drying. Also used as a reversible consolidant in conservation practice.
