Maximum Average Pressure (MAP)
Definition
The SAAMI statistical ceiling for mean chamber pressure across a production lot of cartridges, at specified temperature and barrel conditions. CIP uses maximum mean pressure (MMP) expressed in MPa. Forensic overpressure determinations compare reconstruction estimates against these figures.
