Chamber Pressure
Definition
The gas pressure inside the firearm's chamber and bore during combustion of the propellant charge. Measured by piezoelectric transducer in psi (SAAMI) or MPa (CIP). Peak chamber pressure varies from ~21,000 psi (.45 ACP) to ~60,200 psi (7.62x51mm NATO).
