Cherry-Red Livor Mortis
Definition
Bright pink-red post-mortem lividity produced by the spectral absorption shift of carboxyhaemoglobin; also seen in cyanide poisoning and hypothermia. Distinguished from natural blue-purple lividity by co-oximetry measurement.
