Restoration Surface
Definition
The specific face(s) of a tooth carrying a filling or other restoration. Surfaces are abbreviated M (mesial), D (distal), O (occlusal), B (buccal), L (lingual), F (facial). A five-surface restoration is called a MODBL or similar compound abbreviation.
