The automated workflow is designed and validated for clean, single-source reference samples such as a booking swab. Mixed, degraded, or low-template crime-scene samples need the interpretive judgment and specialised processing of a full laboratory workflow, which Rapid DNA systems are not built to provide.

Common deployment points are booking stations, border and immigration checkpoints, and disaster victim identification sites, where a fast reference profile against a database or a family reference sample is more valuable than laboratory-grade interpretation.
