KED (Kinetic Energy Discrimination)

An ICP-MS collision-reaction cell mode using helium gas to reduce polyatomic interferences on analyte masses. Used in GSR ICP-MS analysis to improve accuracy of Pb, Sb, and Ba measurements against complex swab matrix backgrounds.
