Haemoglobin Species
Definition
The forms of haemoglobin relevant to bloodstain ageing: oxyhaemoglobin (HbO2, fresh), deoxyhaemoglobin (Hb), methaemoglobin (Met-Hb), haemichrome, and haematin; each has a distinct visible/near-IR reflectance spectrum.
