Coriolis effect

Apparent deflection of a moving body due to the rotation of the Earth. In the Northern Hemisphere, deflects projectiles to the right (for any direction of travel); in the Southern Hemisphere, to the left. Magnitude proportional to latitude, velocity, and time-of-flight.
