Definition

The standard elution solvent for activated charcoal strips in ASTM E1412 passive headspace analysis. Selected for its low UV absorption, minimal GC-FID response (does not mask early-eluting analytes), and efficient desorption of non-polar hydrocarbons from charcoal.
