Ventricular Fibrillation
Definition
Chaotic, ineffective cardiac electrical activity induced by alternating current (50-60 Hz) at 100-300 mA through the thorax. The primary mechanism of death in low-voltage domestic electrocution. Not self-terminating; requires defibrillation.
