Definition
The multi-method age assessment framework (physical examination, dental radiograph, wrist radiograph, medial clavicle CT) developed by Andreas Schmeling and the AGFAD study group, the European standard for living-person age assessment.

Common questions
Why does the protocol combine four different methods rather than one?+
Each method has a different useful age range and margin of error, for example dental development is more informative in younger adolescents while clavicle fusion is more useful near legal adulthood, so combining them narrows the overall age estimate.
Why is medial clavicle CT included when it involves radiation exposure?+
The medial clavicle is one of the last skeletal sites to fuse, often into the early twenties, making it valuable specifically for distinguishing whether someone has passed 18, which the other methods alone cannot reliably resolve.
