Matrix metalloprotease 10 (MMP-10)
Definition
An endopeptidase of the MMP family involved in extracellular matrix remodelling during endometrial breakdown and shedding. Significantly elevated in menstrual blood and proposed as a specific protein marker for differentiation from peripheral blood.
