Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry; uses a pulsed UV laser to ablate a microscopic glass sample into an ICP plasma that ionises the ablated material, which is then measured by a mass spectrometer for 27+ elements at parts-per-million to parts-per-billion sensitivity.
