History, cookies, downloads, and cache entries each capture different fragments of browsing activity with their own timestamps, so merging them into one timeline lets an examiner reconstruct the sequence of a session, including activity that a single artefact type alone would not fully explain.
Does Hindsight work on any Chromium-based browser, not just Chrome?+
Because it targets the shared Chromium storage formats, it generally works across Chromium-based browsers such as Edge and Brave with the same profile structure, though version-specific schema changes in a given browser can require an updated parser build to read correctly.
